Bucknell Women’s Golf hosted the Bucknell Invitational at the Bucknell Golf Club to kick off the fall season from Sept. 6-8. The Bison’s home-course advantage certainly played a role, as the team finished third out of 13.
Paige Richter ’26 led the way for the Bison in round one with a +3 score of 73. The two-time All-Patriot League selection dialed in after a double bogey start to her round, finishing -1 on the front nine. After parring the last four holes on the back, she ended day one tied for third place individually.
Tara Thomas ’25 shot a 73 as well behind four birdies, and the rest of the top group for Bucknell was rounded out by Sophia Bardunias ’28 and Lila Smith ’27, who each tallied a 76.
Katherine Vice ’27, Katrina von Behren ’28 and Erin Drahnak ’26 also had scores counted with 78, 80 and 86 respectively.
Bucknell finished with a 299 team score on day one, good for second place on the team leaderboard.
Nicole Yun ’27 came out of the gates hot on day two for the Orange and Blue, shooting a +3 73 behind three birdies.
Smith and Bardunias both carded 76s and Richter shot a 79 to round out the top group.
Thomas tallied a 79, von Behren shot an 82 and Drahnak posted an 81 to round out Bucknell’s individual entries.
Bucknell fell to fourth place after day two on the team leaderboard with a score of 304.
Yun finished as the low Bison on day three with a 75 to finish in seventh place individually. Thomas, Bardunias and Richter also cracked the top 20 individually with 16th, 17th and 18th-place finishes respectively.
Smith closed her weekend out with a 79 and Vice with an 80. After a 308 team score on day three, the Orange and Blue jumped up to third on the team leaderboard.
Next up, Women’s Golf heads to Rehoboth Beach, Del. to compete in the Battle at the Creek at Kings Creek Country Club from Sept. 16-17.
