Men’s Golf competed in the Red Flash Invitational hosted by Saint Francis on Oct. 7 and 8. It was a consistent weekend for the Bison as they wrapped up the two-day event finishing in third place as a team.
After round one, the Bison sat in fourth place on the leaderboard with a combined score of 292 and seven strokes off the lead.
Hayden Quinn ’27 led the way for Bucknell yet again with a +1 tally of 71 on his first round behind 15 pars. He sat in a tie for fifth place on the individual leaderboard after the first day of the event.
Patrick Pritsios ’28 and Jack Hartman ’28 followed right behind Quinn with +2 rounds of 72 after the conclusion of the first day. Hartman found a birdie while also tallying 15 pars and Pritsios sank two birdies and 13 pars. The duo held a tie for ninth place after round one.
The Orange and Blue also counted a +7 77 from James Key ’26 and Michael Rudnick ’25 shot a 77 himself, competing independently.
The two first-years led the way for Bucknell across round two. Hartman had himself a day on day two of the event, keeping himself atop the leaderboards and helping the Bison climb the team standings. Hartman delivered a second round +1 score of 71. Fellow first-year Pritsios followed behind with a +2 72. Pritsios displayed a great recovery after carding a triple bogey early on, birdieing four of his last six holes. Hartman finished in a tie for second place individually and Pritsios climbed to a tie for fourth.
“Going into round two, I tried to stay really focused on limiting mistakes,” Hartman said. “I knew that the course was going to play hard and if I just played steady I would finish strong. I had a couple lucky bounces go my way on the back nine and was able to make a couple birdies down the stretch.”
Quinn followed up his first round with a 75 and Bucknell counted a 76 from Key, as the pair finished in a tie for 11th and a tie for 29th, respectively.
Bucknell followed its opening round team score of 292 with a round two total of 294 to finish in third place collectively overall.
Up next, the Orange and Blue host the Bucknell Invitational at home from Oct. 13-15.
