Bucknell Men’s Cross Country placed third at IC4A Championships scoring 117 points, elevating them to their highest finish since 2001. Women’s Cross Country also competed and placed second at the ECAC Championships, reaching their highest finish since 2006.
The Bison men took on the competitive and historic IC4A Championship held at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, New York. The field included Patriot League rivals Colgate, American, Lehigh and Lafayette as well as some of the top teams on the East Coast such as Harvard and George Mason.
Harry Marson ’25 led the way for the Orange and Blue, running 24:41.60 over the 8k course to place fifth overall in the field of over 250. Marson’s performance is the highest Bison finish at the IC4A since 2003 when Greg Costello ’04 placed fourth overall. Marson’s run also ties his highest career finish.
Following him was Ethan Pratt-Perez ’28, Max Crockett ’25, Ben Santos ’25 and Henry Didden ’26 who placed 14th, 20th, 13th and 48th respectively. Didden made his first appearance of the year on Friday as he’s been sidelined with an injury throughout the fall. As a team, this is the Bison’s highest finish on the men’s side at the IC4A since they took home the team title in 2001.
The Bucknell Women’s Cross Country competed at the ECAC Championships also located at Van Cortlandt Park. They faced many similar foes from the Patriot League and the East Coast, notably a strong Yale team that won the meet.
Caryn Rippey ’26 continued her high-achieving season, finishing as the top finisher for the Bison yet again, running 21:22.90 for thirteenth overall. This is the highest finish by a Bison at the ECAC Championships since 2014. Lauren Trapani ’25, Sarah Policano ’25, Katie Moncavage ’28 and Meghan Rentner ’27 rounded out the scoring for the Orange and Blue finishing twentieth, twenty-second, twenty-third and thirtieth respectively. As a team, this is the highest finish since 2006 when they finished second overall.
Both the men’s and women’s teams continue their season at Patriot League Championships on Nov. 2 where they will return to Lafayette.
