On Saturday, Oct. 26, Bucknell Men’s Soccer hosted Colgate on Emmitt Field. The Bison came out with a 1-0 victory with a goal from Jimmy Pombor ’26 in the 83rd minute.
This win puts Bucknell in first place in the Patriot League with two matches left to play. The Bison sit on top with 14 points and a 4-1-2 league record.
Before the game began, four Bucknell seniors were honored for their senior day: Aidan Lawlor ’25, Jack Roberto ’25, Nick Prime ’25 and Waldemar Kattrup ’25.
In the first half, the teams seemed even with not many scoring opportunities. Cohen Weaver ’26 and David Krumov ’27 connected for one attempt, firing a shot from outside the box, just wide of the goal.
The second half was more aggressive from both teams, but Bucknell held their defense together.
The final 20 minutes of play were the most intense. Colgate had their first big opportunity on goal in the 72nd minute. However, only minutes later, in the 83rd minute, Pombor scored his first career goal for the Bison. Pombor found space in transition, sending a ball into the box to Drew Roskos ’28 toward the end line. Roskos fought off defenders before slipping a pass back to Pomber who took a touch, and fired it into goal.
Bucknell will host their final home match of the regular season this Friday, Nov. 1, against Lafayette at 7 p.m.
