Women’s Basketball got their third straight win on the road against Robert Morris this past Friday, Nov. 29. The Bison now sit at 3-4 after Thanksgiving break.
Former Colonial Tuana Coskun ’27, a recent transfer gained by the Bison, dominated with 16 points and five rebounds against her former team. The top scorer of the game was Ashley Sofilkanich ’27 with 20 points. The third double-digit scorer of the day was veteran Isabella King ’25 with 15. All three players contributed to 51 of the Bison’s 65 points against RMU. King now sits at number 10 on Bucknell’s career three-pointer list with 111 in her four years.
The Bison maintained the lead for the majority of the game, mirroring the past two victories. Both teams traded points for the first few minutes. The Bison established their first lead at 9-8 in the first quarter, and it would stay in their hands for the rest of the game. Sophia Sabino ’26 started a 12-0 run that gave the Bison a comfortable lead early on, and by halftime, they were up 36-24.
Their momentum continued into the second half, with the Bison stretching the lead by 18 points. Coskun contributed to the offensive effort that would push the Bison ahead.
The Colonials managed to get the point difference down to 11 in the fourth quarter. Bucknell relied on strong defense to keep RMU scoreless for a three-minute stretch. On the offensive end, King and Sofilkanich hit two free throws, and Coskun added a three-pointer to regain the 17-point lead.
The game ended with a final score of 65-54. The Bison look to continue improving their record tonight as they host Dartmouth at 6 p.m.
