Women’s Swim and Dive celebrated their seniors with a dual meet against Patriot League competitor Lehigh on Saturday afternoon in Kinney Natatorium. The team won 14 of the 16 events contributing to their total score of 218. They will finish with 6-2 record and 5-2 in the Patriot League as they head into post-season meets.
The Bison snagged the top four times in the 200-yard breaststroke (Liz Dokina ’25, Sydney Jee ’28, Hanna Bingley ’26 and Ava Stallmeyer ’26). Clara Renner ’28 brought in three more wins in both butterfly events and the 100 freestyle, keeping the undefeated title in dual meets this year. Renner has had an impressive rookie season with 19 wins and a 55.43 100 fly, placing her sixth all-time in school history.
Rylie Giles ’25 won both the 200 and 500 freestyle events. Kyla Kelly ’26 also brought in two wins in the 100 free and 200 IM.
Jennifer Bolden ’26 was part of the 200 medley relay that kick-started the meet: the team would then win eight straight events. Renner and Kelly Byrne ’27 finished in the top two for the 1000. One of the most exciting races of the day was in the 100 backstroke where all three Bison, Sofia Burns ’28, Kelly and Talia Bugel ’27 finished within under a second of each other.
Close races seemed to be the theme for the Bison Saturday afternoon. In the 100 breaststroke, Jee beat out teammate Dokina by just .02 seconds. Then again in the 200 fly, Renner, Skye Sunderhauf ’25 and Sydney Dettmann ’27 finished right behind each other. The 50m free followed with Sara Ketron ’27 in first and Virginia Hastings ’27 right behind her.
Diving was led by Reggie Frias ’25 who won the one-meter. Teammates Gina Hinthorn ’25, Meghan Catherwood ’25 and Natalie Penman ’27 finished in 3-4-5.
The final victory of the day was the 400 relay which consisted of Hastings, Bolden, Dettman and Ketron.
Women’s Swim and Dive will be back this weekend with the Bison Invitational before hosting the Patriot League Championship beginning Wednesday, Feb. 19.
