The Bison took home a 79-67 Patriot League victory against Loyola-Maryland on Jan. 3 at Sojka Pavilion, propelling the Orange & Blue to 5-0 in Patriot League Play at home. Noah Williamson ’26 tied his career high with 16 rebounds, also contributing 13 points and four assists. The Bison earned 33 points from shooting 11-for-21 from beyond the arc, four coming from Ruot Bijiek ’26, and outrebounded the Greyhounds 36-27. Five players finished in double figures.
Achile Spadone ’26 scored a team-high 14 points, eight of which were in the first three minutes, starting off strong for the Bison. Spadone also added five rebounds and three steals. Bijek contributed 12 points and Elvin Edmonds IV ’25 and Brandon McCreesh ’27 added 11 each. Josh Bascoe ’25 scored nine points, seven assists and three steals.
Williamson made his only 3-point attempt of the game, his ninth consecutively made three-pointer, tying Hall-of-Famer Mike Bright’s school record.
The Bison never trailed throughout the whole game, a tied score only occurring for 50 seconds. Bijek hit a three-point attempt after a Williamson offensive rebound, giving the Bison their first 10-point lead of the night at 21-11. The Orange & Blue were up 40-29 at the half.
The Greyhounds started off stronger in the second half, narrowing the Bison’s lead to 49-46. The Orange & Blue responded with an 8-0 stretch to take back a greater lead. After a Bijek three-pointer and layups from McCreesh and Bascoe, Williamson’s record-tying three-point shot fell and Edmonds added another layup to bring the Bison their greatest lead of the night at 62-48. Loyola reduced the lead, but the Bison responded with a three from McCreesh and an 8-for-8 stretch from the free throw line. The Orange & Blue sealed their fifth straight home victory and third straight win over the Greyhounds.
The Bison traveled to Annapolis, MD, on Feb. 1 and came out on top 85-75 against Navy. A stellar first half led them to victory. The Bison moved up in the Patriot League rankings to be tied for second.
Williamson chipped in 29 points and 12 rebounds, securing his eighth double-double by halftime. Edmonds set the tone of the half by hitting a three on the first possession of the game. He scored all 14 of his points in the first half.
The first half contained the Bison’s best 20 minutes of the season, shooting 75 percent, going 21-28 from the field and 5-for-7 from the arc. The Bison secured a 51-26 lead at halftime.
Edmonds’ second of four three-pointers gave the Orange & Blue a 12-2 start. Nine minutes into the game, the Bison were 11-for-13 from the field, and Williamson and Pip Ajayi ’25 tipped in the two that were missed.
The Bison were up 26-19 after the first quarter. Shots continued to fall, out-scoring Navy 25-7 during the second quarter. Bascoe connected with Ajayi for an alley-oop, Edmonds fired his fourth three-pointer and Josh Fulton ’26 scored four straight points. With 5.8 seconds left in the half, Williamson’s successful three gave the Orange & Blue a 25-point lead, matching their largest of the season.
Navy narrowed the Bison’s lead as Bison shots weren’t falling and various fouls occurred. However, the Midshipmen were unable to score enough to top the phenomenal first-half performance by the Bison. Williamson scored twice on breakaways and the Orange & Blue went 9-for-12 at the foul line to finish the game, completing a season sweep of the Midshipmen.
Navy entered the game on a three-game winning streak with an average margin of 17.7 points, but the Bison took control on both sides of the court and won with a margin of 10. The Orange & Blue snapped their nine-game losing streak on the road.
Williamson leads the league with eight double-doubles and now has eight 20-point games.
The Bison will travel to New York to take on Army on Feb. 8.
