Bucknell Women’s Swim and Dive hosted Navy, American, Lafayette, Lehigh and Shippensburg at the non-scored Bison Invitational this past weekend. The team finished with nine wins and six new top ten times.
Clara Renner ’28 continues to prove herself in her rookie season with two event wins. Her 200 IM time was the second-best all-time at 2:00.86. Sara Ketron ’27 finished right behind her in the 200 IM after assisting in a first place 200-yard freestyle relay. The rest of the relay consisted of Virginia Hastings ’27, Kyla Kelly ’26 and Jennifer Bolden ’26. Their time of 1:33.15 puts them fourth fastest in Bucknell History, the previous record set by Hastings and Kelly in last year’s Patriot League Championship.
Renner, Kelly and Ketron later on went 1-2-4 in the 2000 free. This race marked Renner’s 21st event win and she remains undefeated against all other Patriot League swimmers.
Reggie Frias ’25 led the day on the boards claiming the No. 6 spot in the 1-meter competition, as well as winning the 300-meter by scoring 272.00.
Liz Dokina ’25 came in first in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:18.37 that sits at ninth in school history. Ava Stallmeyer ’26 came in second behind the senior.
Other notable performances came from Hastings in the 400 IM with a time of 4:21.60, putting her at No.8 in school history. Kelly Byrne ’27 came in first in a 1-3-5 victory in the 200 backstroke followed by teammates Sydney Dettman ’27 and Samantha Benzija ’27. In the 100 back Kelly placed second (56.49) and now sits at 10th in Bucknell history.
Up next, the Bison will host the Patriot League Championship Feb. 19-22.
