Another weekend wrapped up for Men’s Tennis as the Bison stayed home to play Loyola (Md.) on Saturday, March 29. This is the team’s second game in Patriot League play for the spring, leaving them undefeated in the conference. The Bison were also supposed to play at Mount St. Mary’s, but the match was ultimately postponed due to forecasted bad weather.
The day started strong for the Bison as they swept the Greyhounds in doubles play. Dynamic duo Amar Tahirovic ’26 and Brendan McDonald ’26 defeated their opponents 6-1. Pairs Oscar Bain Moreno de Vega ’26 and Adam Stavrakas ’26 and Liam Kilmer ’27 and Will Robinson ’27 followed suit by winning both matches 6-3. These victories gave the Bison a lead against Loyola by gaining the first point of the match.
The Orange and Blue carried this momentum into singles play by winning all six of their matches and dropping only one set the entire day. Tahirovic won his singles match 6-0, 6-1. This win helped Tahirovic’s record improve to 25-2, which ranks him 124th nationally by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. He moved up to 76 career wins, tying for second all-time in the program. Stavrakas also won his match in two, 6-1, 6-1. This was his 18th straight win in singles and he remains undefeated in his dual matches. Kilmer and McDonald continued the trend by winning their matches in two, going 6-0, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-3, respectively. Bain had a bit more of a struggle in his match but ultimately won in three sets with scores of 6-2, 4-6, 10-6. Shiv Singh ’28 rounded out the day with a 6-1, 6-1 win against his Greyhound opponents. These victories added six points to their first, leaving them to sweep Loyola clean.
