Bucknell Women’s Golf had a very successful weekend at the Prospect Bay Intercollegiate match. After three hard-fought rounds, the Bison found themselves tied with Long Island University (LIU) for the top spot, but LIU was awarded first place after tiebreakers.
The biggest headline of the weekend was Sophia Bardunias ’28, who posted rounds of 79, 75 and 76 to earn a share of the individual lead at +14. Paige Richter ’26 finished one stroke behind Bardunias and the two other leaders after rounds of 79, 79 and 73, good enough for a solo fourth-place finish. A trio of Bucknell sophomores put together strikingly similar tournaments, as Lila Smith ’27 and Katherine Vice ’27 finished at +26 for the tournament, with Nicole Yun ’27 one stroke in front of them at +25. Yun earned 11th place out of 50, with Vice and Smith earning 12th and 13th, respectively.
A second-place team finish is encouraging for the squad of mainly underclassmen. The Bison look to improve this weekend with a visit to Youngstown State.
