The Bison brought home a loss from their game against Colgate this past Saturday, Apr. 5. The Orange and Blue fall to 5-7 overall and 1-4 in the Patriot League for the season.
Megan Krestinski ʼ26 led the Bison with five goals of her own throughout the contest, making up over half the team’s total.
From the first quarter, the Orange and Blue found themselves fighting to reclaim the lead. The Raiders scored three points before the Bison added their own to the scoreboard. The second quarter began with Katie Browne ʼ26 finding the back of the net. Colgate’s defense held strong, causing a shot clock violation for the Orange and Blue. The first half ended with the Raiders up 6-3.
The third quarter saw Colgate extending their lead to 9-5. Coming into the fourth, the Bison meant business with Juliana Pagano ʼ26, Carly Cenci ʼ25 and Krestinski providing back-to-back-to-back goals, bringing their deficit to just one goal. Colgate responded with a goal of their own with under four minutes left in the contest, followed by Regan Sansiviero ʼ26 bringing it back to just a one-goal game, but still a Bison defeat.
Despite a loss for the Orange and Blue, there were many notable aspects of the game. Of these was Taylor McClain ʼ25, whose assist set her tied for second in record career assists with 78. Colleen Kazanjian ʼ25 had four saves throughout the game and managed 19 of 22 clears from within the crease.
On the circle, Colgate presented quite a challenge, allowing the Bison only five of the 22 draw controls. The Orange and Blue dominated in other areas, managing 21 ground balls to the Raiders 13 and resulting in 15-7 in turnover compared to Colgate.
The Bison hope to add another win to their record as they prepare to play American at home on Friday, Apr. 11 at 4 p.m.
