This past Friday, April 11, Bison Women’s Lacrosse secured an 11-9 victory at home against American. This brings their record to 6-7 overall and 2-4 in the Patriot League.
Taylor McClain ʼ25 had two assists in the contest, securing her the second-place in Bucknell’s record books for career assists. Allie Boyce ʼ25 was after a record of her own; her two goals in this game put her just four away from the record for career goals. Megan Krestinski ʼ26 was a major contributor to the scoreboard, racking up four throughout the match. Caroline Sheridan ʼ26, Kat Reynolds ʼ28 and Alex Nesbitt ʼ26 were also able to find the back of the net.
American opened the game with a goal, but the Orange and Blue responded with four goals of their own. The Eagles added two more to their score, followed by a goal from Krestinski. The point was called back as a dangerous shot, but after a video review, the call was overturned, making it 5-3 going into the second. The second quarter went with even scoring from both teams. With less than 30 seconds left in the quarter, Reynolds shot and scored, bringing it to 9-5 at halftime.
In the third quarter, the Bison and the Eagles were able to secure two points. The Orange and Blue didn’t score in the fourth, but their lead from the first half helped carry them to an 11-9 win.
The Bison had proved offensively strong in this match, leading in shots 25-15. The Orange and Blue had success on draw controls, earning 13 of the 24. The Bison were strong defensively as well, causing seven turnovers compared to the Eagles’ 11. Goalie Colleen Kazanjian ʼ25 made four saves and 17 of 19 clears.
The Orange and Blue hope to keep the momentum up this weekend against Army.
