Bucknell Men’s Golf took the course again this past weekend at the Rutherford Intercollegiate hosted at Penn State. The three-round competition saw the Bison finish 10th out of 12 teams.
In regards to team performance, it was the second round that inhibited Bucknell’s chances of a high finish. After a combined score of 8-over par in round one, the Bison lost momentum and shot a combined 27-over par in round two. A 10-over showing in round three steadied them, but Saturday’s showing proved too impactful to come back from.
On an individual level, Michael Rudnick ʼ25 led the way. His first round 72 (1-over) and final round 70 (1-under) were very encouraging, and only a second round 80 (9-over) stopped him from climbing any higher than a tie for 32nd place out of the field of 69 players. Jack Hartman ʼ28 finished one stroke below Rudnick for the tournament, posting scores of 72-77-74 to continue his stellar freshman season. James Robbins ʼ26 finished the tournament 14-over par with scores of 79-74-74. James Key ʼ26 and Patrick Pritsios ʼ28 ended right next to each other on the final leaderboard, as Key’s scores of 73-80-76 earned him a 56th finish at 16-over par. Pritsios posted scores of 75-80-76 to finish in 60th place. Rounding out the Bison competitors was Hayden Quinn ʼ27 with a final score of 22-over par after rounds of 76-81-78.
Despite a challenging Saturday, the Bison will be back after a two-week break for the Patriot League Championships, which will be hosted at the Bucknell Golf Club.
