Women’s Golf began the opening round of the Patriot League Championship posting a 327 team total on Friday, April 18. Sophia Bardunias ʼ28 led the Bison with a 6-over-par 78, tied for ninth place. Paige Richter ʼ26 made a team-high four birdies and finished with an 80. Nicole Yun ʼ27 posted an 83, Lila Smith ʼ27 and Tara Thomas ʼ25 both carded 86s, and Katherine Vice ʼ27 shot an 87, making an eagle at the par-5 third hole.
On Saturday, Richter notched a career-best 1-under-par 71, and the Bison’s team score of 297 moved them up to third place. Richter’s 71 and the team’s 297 were the lowest individual and team rounds ever for the Bison at Patriot League Championships. Richter recorded the 12th-under–par round in Bucknell history, the first at a Patriot League Championship. The Bison posted four scores of 78 or better and their team score was 30 strokes better than their first-round score. Yun recorded a 1-over 73, making two birdies and 13 pars. Bardunias played her final six holes in a 1-under but finished with a 75. Smith also shot a 78, going even-par at the turn. Richter ended the day tied for sixth and Bardunias in eighth.
On Sunday, the Bison women’s golf team finished in third place, their best showing since 2014. Bardunias and Richter earned All-Patriot League medals for their top-10 finishes. The Bison finished third overall at 934 over 54 holes, eight in front of fourth-place Lehigh. Navy took the victory while Boston University took second, with the Bison trailing 11 behind the Terriers. Vice posted the team’s low on Sunday with a 76, followed by Bardunias’ 77, Thomas’ 78 and Yun’s 79. All six Bison had at least one round counted in the team score during the tournament. Bardunias finished in sixth place with a 54-hole total of 230 to finish her rookie season. Richter tied for seventh at 231, earning Patriot League honors in all three of her seasons and becoming Bucknell’s first three-time All-Patriot selection. The Bison conclude their season with a third-place finish.
