Bison Women’s Lacrosse faced #15 Loyola at home this past Thursday. The game resulted in a 19-6 loss, bringing the Orange and Blue’s final overall season record to 6-10 and 2-7 in the Patriot League. This loss also takes the Bison out of 2025 playoff contention, having last made an appearance in 2017.
Allie Boyce ʼ25 made history in this match, securing the record for career goals with 145. Boyce found the back of the net off a pick and roll in the fourth quarter after tying in the second quarter on a free-position shot. Joining her on the scoreboard were Alex Nesbitt ʼ26, Alex Macutek ʼ28, Carly Cenci ʼ25 and Caroline Sheridan ʼ26, all of whom added their own points in the contest.
The Bison started the game with a point from Nesbitt. Loyola answered just two minutes later, scoring four back-to-back goals, giving them a 4-1 lead going into the second quarter. Loyola held strong in the second, adding eight points in a row to their total, utilizing the middle and making connections with cutters. The intense offense left the Orange and Blue in a 12-3 deficit going into halftime.
The Greyhounds remained strong throughout the second half until the Bison ended their 15-goal streak with a free position shot from Boyce. The Orange and Blue brought the difference to 13 with three goals in a row to end the game.
While the score might not have gone in favor of the Orange and Blue, they only recorded 10 turnovers to Loyola’s 18 and had far more caused turnovers, ending with 13 to the Greyhounds’ seven. The Orange and Blue even outdid Loyola with ground balls, ending with 16-13 to the Bison.
The draw circle proved a challenge for the Orange and Blue, going three to 27, demonstrating their struggle with gaining that initial possession. The Bison also had trouble making shots on goal, trailing Loyola 16 to 25. Colleen Kazanjian ʼ25 had six saves in her final match with the Orange and Blue and went 16 for 17 on the clear.
The Bison ended the season ninth in the league with a record of 2-7 in the Patriot League and 6-10 overall.
