Forget everything you know about the traditional drive-in movie! Students plunged into the Kinney Natatorium from 9:30-11:30 p.m. on Jan. 28. to watch a screening of the hilarious cartoon flick “Despicable Me 2.”

This event was co-sponsored by the Women’s Golf Team and Late Night at KLARC.

The movie—which was projected onto the big screen in Kinney Natatorium—is the sequel to the popular “Despicable Me” released four years ago in 2010. In the film, the whole “Despicable Me” cast is reunited to stop a new criminal mastermind named El Macho, who has hijacked a secret laboratory near the Arctic Circle. The Anti-Villain League (AVL) seeks the help of Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) when they find themselves unsure of how to stop El Macho (also known as Eduardo) from achieving world domination. In order to save everyone, Gru teams up with Lucy, a secret agent and his new love interest, and the pair devise a plan to foil the evil intentions of El Macho.

Students in attendance enjoyed free popcorn, soda and candy while they floated in the pool.

The entire dive-in movie experience—from floating in the tepid water to snacking on the delicious free food to being in the company of great friends—was the perfect blend of relaxation and entertainment.
