Campus Vinyl, a student publication that posts articles and provides updates on all things musical on and off campus, hosted its first Winter Jam at Uptown on Feb. 8.

Campus Vinyl covers musical events and rising student artists, but showcasing musical talents on campus is one of its main objectives.

This year was the first time that Campus Vinyl hosted Winter Jam. It featured performances by H.M.S. Pinafore and Sheridan Gates ’14.

Gates opened the show with a few acoustic covers of popular songs by artists such as Adele and Train, while H.M.S. Pinafore ended the night with some blues and funk numbers.

H.M.S Pinafore’s and Gates’ performances appealed to music lovers of all genres, as both left students excited and Besides the great music, the event featured free Bison dip and teriyaki meatballs. The food and drinks were free of charge for students who attended the event.

The food, enthusiastic crowd, relaxed ambiance, and the entertaining live music sponsored by Campus Vinyl will happen again this semester. Check out campusvinyl.com for the latest updates on upcoming events.
