Activities and Campus Events’ (ACE) Valentine’s Day Soiree on Feb. 14, co-sponsored by CHOICE and Chi Phi Fraternity, helped bring students together to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

The event, which ran from 7:30-11 p.m. in the Terrace Room and featured a variety of activities, garnered over 200 people throughout the night.

The biggest hit of the night was the Stuff-A-Plush pillow pets. Students could stuff a variety of animals including bears, wolves, monkeys, and ladybugs. The Stuff-A-Plushes were so popular that they disappeared early on in the event. Students also indulged in the chocolate fountain, desserts, and hors d’oeuvres at the event.

“It was a great event. The chocolate fountain was delicious and the pillow pets were adorable,” Leah Garden ’16 said.

Aside from homemade stuffed animals and tasty treats, many of the students even had the opportunity to speed date with some of the Chi Phi brothers in search of finding a special Valentine.

“The speeding dating was a lot of fun! It was interesting to get to talk to 15 total strangers and get to know a little bit about them,” Anders Velischek ’16 said.

“Helping out ACE with their Valentine’s Day Soiree was a great experience. Going through the planning process was entertaining to figure out how we would help with the event, and leading up to the event, the brothers of Chi Phi were eager to participate. The event was a success and it was wonderful to be able to get involved with an on campus group like ACE,” Public Relations Chair of Chi Phi Fraternity Miles Silva ’16 said.

The event also featured a student performer, Nikki Allison ’15, on guitar.

“I’m so happy with how many different groups were brought together during the event. CHOICE and Chi Phi were fantastic co-sponsors,” ACE Programming Chair Shiri Levine ’16 said.

Tomorrow ACE will bring the ThinkFast Game Show, featured on ABC television network, to campus. The event begins at 9 p.m. in Larison Dining Hall.
