Men’s golf team finishes strong in Wildcat Invitational

The Orange and Blue traveled to White Manor Country Club in Malvern, Pa. to compete in the Villanova Wildcat Invitational from March 31-April 1. Each Bison played three rounds. D.J. Magee ’17, John Edler ’17, Nick Geissler ’16, Zach Melnick ’17, and Billy Wright ’14 competed.

“It was a very fun tournament with a great field and many competitive players,” Elder said. “White Manor was a very nice venue and was in great shape for this time of the year.”

The team finished in 16th place out of 16 teams. Nevertheless, they improved as a team with each passing round. Magee led the way for the Bison with a 79-76-75 for a total of 230. Edler played consistently during all three rounds, ending with a final score of 235. Geissler also concluded the invitational with a strong finish of 76 in round three.

The Bison will have return to the course at the Lafayette Invitational in Easton, Pa. from April 6-7.
