Jason Derulo and Chance the Rapper Announced as Fall Concert

Concert Committee announced Aug. 29 that Jason Derulo and Chance the Rapper will be performing at the University on Oct. 25 for the Concert Committee’s Fall Concert.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. in Gerhard Fieldhouse, with doors opening at 6 p.m. for the yet to be announced opening act.

“I am so excited for this year’s concert and have high hopes that the student body will be too,” Concert Committee Chair Jen Lassen ’15 said.

The Concert Committee took student opinions about performers into account by sending a survey to students over the summer. The Committee has combined its budget for spring and fall concerts, as it has in recent years, to host one larger concert in the fall.

“Their responses showed that they most popularly want rap, pop, and hip-hop artists to perform at Bucknell. The Concert Committee and I feel strongly that our choice for this year’s concert reflects what students want, and we hope that everyone will buy tickets for an awesome show,” Lassen said.

Students can purchase tickets at the Campus Activities and Programs Center (CAP) or the Weis Center, as well as the online box office to purchase tickets electronically. Tickets cost $30 and will go on sale at noon on Sept. 9. They will be on sale to the public on Sept. 12 for $35. The Concert Committee has encouraged students to purchase their tickets beforehand.

“We are so excited for this fall concert,” said Marissa Hosker ’17,  “We’ve been working over the summer and think Jason and Chance are going to be a great combination.  Jason is such a recognizable name and Chance is growing in popularity so I know it will be a lot of fun.”
