Stadler Center Poetry Reading Event

Rachel Chou, Assistant Campus Life Editor

On Sept. 6, students, faculty, and staff writers gathered together to listen to their peers share verses of prose and poetry in Bucknell Hall. This poetry reading exhibited our students and faculty’s talents in poetic language and writing.

“People don’t necessarily realize how much talent we have, and this showcases it,” Abby MacGregor ’16 said. “It’s also a nice way to get away from school work for an hour during the weekend.”

One of the greatest things about art, and poetry specifically, is that it allows you to understand other people on a deeper level, even if you may not know them at all.

“Listening to other people’s poetry is a great way to understand someone else. You get to know people through their writing, and gain a different perspective,” Jahi Omari ’17 said.
