Domestic:

A grand jury chose not to indict police officer Daniel Pantaleo on Dec. 3 regarding the death of Eric Garner in New York in July. Garner was accused of illegally selling cigarettes. Garner’s death, which occurred as a result of choking by police, was recorded on video in which he expressed his inability to breathe. (CNN)

Amid protests in Ferguson, Mo., protesters staged a “die-in” in Grand Central Station in New York on Dec. 3 in response to grand juries choosing not to indict police officers in the deaths of both Michael Brown in Ferguson and Eric Garner in New York. The protest involved activists lying down in Grand Central during rush hour.  (NBC)

International:

Ibolya Ryan, an American kindergarten teenager, was stabbed to death on Dec. 3 at a shopping mall in Abu Dhabi. Jihadist websites have recently featured anonymous posts encouraging attacks on teachers in the Middle East.  (NBC)

Since Dec. 1, the U.S. military has launched 14 air strikes against ISIS and 11 strikes in Iraq.  The strikes hit several cities in Syria and Iraq. (Reuters)
