Lauren Whelan, Assistant Sports Editor

The women’s swimming and diving team recorded two more victories as it finished up the final dual meets of the season. Before a win against Lehigh on Jan. 24, the Orange and Blue celebrated Senior Day by honoring their seniors. The team then continued its success against Wagner the following day on Jan. 25 and improved its overall record to 7-4. Notable finishes came from many members of the squad to help the Orange and Blue to success, totaling 17 first-place finishes throughout the weekend. Emma Levendoski ‘16, Dani Potis ‘18, Julianna Foss ‘18, Diana Hanson ‘17, and Tara Boyle ‘15 all finished first in their respective events.

Claiming 10 first-place finishes out of the 17 events against Lehigh, the Bison won with a final score of 163-131. Levendoski, Hanson, and Foss each placed first in two of their respective events to give the Orange and Blue the edge over the Mountain Hawks. Levendoski’s performances placed her first in both the 100 and 200 back, while Hanson secured first place in both breaststroke events. Foss also won the two butterfly events.

“My biggest take away is that you have to work for your success and to not back down, because when you do that’s when you’re going to face defeat, and nobody wants to face defeat,” Foss said.

Just 24 hours after taking down the Mountain Hawks, the Bison traveled to New York to face Wagner. With seven first-place finishes, the Orange and Blue scored 134 points to Wagner’s 109. Notable performances came from Potis and Boyle who both won their respective events. Levendoski and Perry also contributed wins once more to help lift the Bison over Wagner.

The Orange and Blue look to continue their winning streak on Jan. 31 when they will host the Bison Invite at Kinney Natatorium, and also at the Patriot League Championships in February.
