In a break from regular season Patriot League play, the women’s water polo team held exhibition games from March 28-29 at Kinney Natatorium for a series of club teams.

Four games were played against teams from Carnegie Mellon, Pittsburgh, West Chester, and Penn State. The two match-ups from March 29 were televised for the Patriot League Network at 9:20 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The Bison swept all four games, mostly by wide margins. The Pittsburgh match was won 10-5, Carnegie and West Chester both suffered a 6-3 loss to the Bison, and the Orange and Blue won a victory over neighboring Penn State 12-8.

“Having these teams come was not only good for us for practicing fundamentals, but it’s also helping encourage club teams around Pennsylvania to go Varsity by getting the opportunity to play DI and DII teams and be successful,” Gigi Joudrie ’18 said.

The Bison have had a lull in official play since they concluded a California series back last month. The next contested match is set for April 11 against Gannon, followed by Mercyhurst on April 12.
