Kappa Alpha Theta and Chi Phi host Special Olympics

On Sunday, March 22, the sisters of Kappa Alpha Theta and the brothers of Chi Phi

paired together to host their annual tournament for the Special Olympics of

Pennsylvania at the Kinney Natatorium.

At the event, the organizations raised over $4,000 for the Special Olympics and had

around 70 athletes from Central PA counties compete.

“It was one of the best Special Olympics tournaments I have ever participated in and I

so appreciated everyone’s efforts,” said Joanna Malaszczyk ’15, Special Olympics

Committee chair for Kappa Alpha Theta

To garner strong spirit in the event, both Chi Phi and Kappa Alpha Theta met the night

before to hold a poster making session for all of the counties involved as well as for

each of their assigned buddies!
