Women’s golf wraps up fall season at Dayton Invitational

The Bison placed 11th at the Dayton Flyer Invitational on Oct. 19-20 at the NCR Country Club. The Orange and Blue dropped three strokes off their first round score on the final day of play. This was the last tournament of the fall season for the team, and they finished with a 331 tally and a 665 total for the week.

Jen Lee ’16 posted an 81 to lead the Bison on the first day of the tournament, and she also had a team-high of nine pars for the day. Katie Childers ’19 was one stroke behind with an 82. Emily Larson ’17 posted 84, Lindsay Dodovich ’18 with 87, and Graysen Bright ’19 with 89. The team posted 334 after the first round.

On the second day of play, Dodovich led the squad with a 79 final-round score. She had nine pars and nine bogeys throughout the day. Larson was right behind her with an 81. She finished the invitational with a 165 total for 36 holes, which was the best score on the team. Lee scored an 85, while Bright and Childers each shot 86 for the Bison.

The Bison’s best scoring average of the fall season belongs to Dodovich with a 79.5. Larson is in second with an 80.2.

The Orange and Blue will be next seen in action on March 7-8 at the Bison in Las Vegas event at the Boulder Creek Golf Club.
