3-1 loss for field hockey

Maddie Liotta, Staff writer

The field hockey’s game against American on Oct. 31 was a sad loss for the Bison, with a close score of 1-3. Despite this, the Orange and Blue have still managed to secure a spot for themselves in the Patriot League Tournament on Nov. 6-7.

The Bison scored the first goal of the game just about four minutes after the opening whistle. Stephanie Dressler ’18 scored the point for the Bison, coming off of a deflection which originated as a penalty corner. Emily Goodloe ’17 assisted Dressler in making the goal.

The Orange and Blue were not deterred when American pulled ahead 2-1, and eventually 3-1 as an insurance. The Bison held the advantage in the game for shots, leading 12-8.

The American goalkeeper effectively shut the Bison out of the goal, making six saves from the Orange and Blue’s shots.

The Bison have a game against Boston University on Nov. 6 and a potential Patriot League Championship game Nov. 7.
