The Orange and Blue traveled to Bronx, N.Y. on Nov. 7 for a tough game against Fordham at Jack Coffey Field. The Rams, who are ranked No. 16 with a record of 8-2 on the season and 4-1 in the Patriot League, proved to be strong competition. Quarterback R.J. Nitti ’17 completed a five-yard touchdown pass to Bobby Kaslander ’16 with 1:44 left in the fourth quarter. This brought the score to 17-16, but Nitti’s two-point attempt was intercepted. Fordham achieved another touchdown to bring the final score to 24-16.

Throughout the first half, the Orange and Blue never trailed and kept the score close. Both teams completed a touchdown in the first quarter and a field goal in the second. The score was 10-10 at halftime. The Bison were able to hold the Rams below their average of 40.0 points by more than two touchdowns, and they limited Fordham to 345 yards of total offense. Nitty completed 19 of 31 passes for 222 yards and one touchdown. Ben Schumacher ’17 completed his first career interception as defensive lineman.

Other notable performances include Matt DelMauro ’16 as the offensive standout for the Bison. He performed a career-high 168 rushing yards, and 131 came from the first half alone.

“This was a game I really wanted to win. The last two years we played Fordham the outcome was decided on the last play of the game, so I wanted to do as much as I could to change that this year. Unfortunately we came up short again, but as a senior with only two games left I am determined to finish the season off the right way,” DelMauro said.
