On Nov. 22, the Bison concluded their season after squaring off against St. Francis Brooklyn in the fifth-place contest of the CWPA Championship. The Orange and Blue’s opponent earned a 4-2 halftime advantage and ultimately defeated the Bison 9-6. Stefan Aleksic ’16 led the Bison with three goals, while Sean Daley ’17 contributed two more.

Starting off strong, the Bison held a 2-1 lead early in the second quarter after a goal from Aleksic. St. Francis Brooklyn responded by scoring six of the game’s next seven goals, which provided them with a 7-3 cushion. Throughout the second half, the Bison’s challenger led by as many as five goals.

The Bison have finished in the top five at the CWPA Championship for 11 consecutive years. The Orange and Blue exceeded their seed this year as they entered the weekend seeded seventh in the 12-team field. Concluding their season the most victorious since 2007, the Orange and Blue finished with an 18-13 overall record.

Thanks to his three goals during the competition, Bison all-conference selection Aleksic completed his career as a Bison with 213 goals, 152 assists, and 365 points to rank in the top 10 in the program’s history in all three categories. This fall, his 67 goals brought him to a career high. The 97 points he tallied were only four shy of his highest total in that category.

Despite the season-ending in a 9-6 loss to St. Francis Brooklyn, the Bison had an impressive season, taking sixth at the CWPA Championship and finishing 18-13 overall.
