Pull-Out Quote: “We are coming off a hard two weeks of track camp training and these mid season meets give us even more practice. They are preparing us well for the Patriot League Championships.”

The men’s track and field team split their squad from Jan. 29-30, with one group competing in the Penn State National Invitational and the remaining athletes staying home for the 18th Annual Bison Open. Both meets ended with positive results. The Orange and Blue look forward to the upcoming Patriot League Championship, which will be hosted by Boston University.

At University Park, Grant Reynolds ’16 ran an 8.26 in the 60-meter hurdles and qualified for the semi-finals, where he placed 16th overall. Luke Giugliano ’17 finished with an impressive time of 8:27.84 in the 3,000 meter run, and Anthony Menza ’16 scored an IC4A-qualifying time of 1:05.13 in the 500-meter race.

We are coming off a hard two weeks of track camp training and these mid-season meets give us even more practice. They are preparing us well for the Patriot League Championships,” Reynolds said.

Back in Gerhard Fieldhouse, Matthew Barton ’19 claimed seventh place in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.75. Peter Onusconich ’18 finished right behind him in eighth. Adam Karl ’18 had some notable performances in the heptathlon, finishing second in the 60-meter dash and first in the high jump.

“I’m still learning most of the events, so its good to find out where I stand and I still have a lot of room for improvement,” Karl said.

Matthew Fay ’19 and Adam Mszanski ’17 both finished in the top five of the pole vault, coming in third and fourth, respectively. Steve Bolger ’19 defeated a field of 24 high jumpers, claiming first place with a jump of 6-4 ¼.

The Bison will be back in action from Feb. 5-6 as they travel to the YSU National Invitational in Youngstown, Ohio.
