Women’s golf finishes third at Navy Invitational

With a team score of 329, the Orange and Blue took a third-place finish at the Navy Spring Invitational on April 9-10 in Annapolis, Md. Katie Childers ’19 was the front-runner for the Bison with a 36-hole tournament total of 162. The Bison competed in the two-day invitational against Lehigh, Georgetown, and Navy.

On the first day of competition, Childers led the Bison with a score of 80, just three strokes behind her Navy opponent’s top score of the day. Lindsay Dodovich ’18 and Emily Larson ’17 tied at seventh for the day with a score of 82. Not far behind, Jen Lee ’16 had an 88, and Eunbbie Kim ’19 posted a 91. At the conclusion of the first day, the Bison were in fourth place with 332.

The Orange and Blue improved their score on the final day, finishing in third place. Dodovich led the Bison for the day with a score of 81, tying for eighth place overall. Childers shot 82 on the day, finishing the tournament in fourth place overall on the individual leaderboard. Larson and Lee each collected an 83, while Kim finished with a mark of 91. Despite starting the second day two shots behind Navy, the Orange the Blue came back with a score of 329 to finish the Invitational in third place ahead of Navy. The Bison ended the tournament with a total score of 661.

 The Bison will prepare to compete next at the Patriot League Championships, held at the Bucknell Golf Club on April 23-24.
