Trailing only Navy, the men’s track and field team took second place at the Mason Spring Invitational on April 9. Despite difficult conditions, the Bison were able to tally up 97 points, led by Reggie Harris ’19, who took first in the triple jump.

Young talent proved to be key for the Orange and Blue, as William Melchionni ’19 also performed well in multiple events, grabbing fourth place in the 200-meter dash and fifth in the 400-meter dash. Other contributors for the Bison included Anthony Menza ’16, Wade Heidel ’19, John Westwood ’16, and Scott Gulizio ’19. Menza took eighth place in the 400-meter dash, behind Melchionni. Heidel trailed Melchionni in the 200-meter dash, placing fifth. Westwood and Gulizio competed in the 800-meter run, placing third and seventh, respectively.

In the field events, Pat Mulrooney ’16, Terry Hall ’19, Bo Burleigh ’19, Olu Shoyoye ’16, and Joseph Breen ’17 all placed to add points for the Bison.

The team will host the Bison Outdoor Classic, its first home meet of the season, on April 16-17.
