The women’s cross country team took first place in the 5k for the 30th annual Detroit Titan Invitational in Northville, Mich. on Sept. 10. Standout Kate Scott ’17 won her second consecutive race to contribute to the Bison’s 23 scored points. This victory made it the sixth for the Orange and Blue at this Invitational.

Scott’s performance earned her recognition as Patriot League Female Runner of the Week, beating out 113 competitors to earn the victory. Her 17:55 finish brought her in 12 seconds faster than the second-place runner.

Including Scott’s win, the Orange and Blue tallied three of the four top marks. Coming in third was Sarah Chandler ’17, with Christine Bendzinski ’18 right behind. Elizabeth Sheprow ’17 came in at seventh, with Jenna Farmer ’19, Lauren Gronbeck ’20, and Christine O’Kane ’19 coming in eighth, ninth, and 10th, respectively.

At ninth in the Mid-Atlantic Region, the Bison women’s cross country team will continue its season Sept. 23 at the Virginia/Panorama Farm Invitational.
