Loss to Loyola concludes volleyball’s home matches

The women’s volleyball team closed its season of home matches on Nov. 4 with a tough 1-3 loss to Loyola. Despite the disappointing loss to a conference opponent, the Orange and Blue have two more regular season matches left in their schedule.

Loyola defeated the Bison by scores of 25-15, 22-25, 25-19, and 25-23.

The first-year athletes had an eventful night, as Sophie Bullard ’20 led the team with 14 kills and Bridgette Holland ’20 added 10.

Holland reflecting on the team’s performance, saying, “Overall, we could have performed better against Loyola. We definitely played better the first time against them but hopefully, we will finish this weekend on a good note.”

Luz Nagle ’18 carried the Bison with a career-high of 39 assists, eight digs, and two block assists. Jordan Walker ’17 and Rebecca Forbes ’17 completed their final home match with the Bison, tallying 13 kills and eight digs, respectively.

The Bison are currently 3-11 in the Patriot League and 5-21 overall. They have tallied a 1-8 record for away games, 3-11 at home, and 1-2 at neutral locations. The Orange and Blue will hit the road to face Holy Cross on Nov. 11 and Army West Point on Nov. 12 to finalize their 2016 season.
