The wrestling team fell to No. 12 Lehigh 33-7 on Nov. 11 at the Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall. Garrett Hoffman ’20 and Tom Sleigh ’18 both earned wins for the Bison.

Hoffman earned his first collegiate win at 184 pounds, posting a 7-4 decision. Sleigh‚ who is ranked 15th nationally at 197 pounds, posted a 13-2 major decision, marking his 59th victory.

The Orange and the Blue had four first-years in their lineup and only two nationally ranked players, while Lehigh’s lineup consisted of six nationally ranked grapplers. With six of the Mountain Hawks’ victories coming from bonus points, the wrestling team is still holding their heads high, in hopes for a better turnout next weekend.

“We are wrestling in our first wrestling tournament over Thanksgiving Break called the Navy Classic. The team and I are very excited to compete in a tournament setting with many top ranked wrestlers in the country. This tournament is a great measuring stick for the National tournament in March which is our main focus,” Sleigh said.

The Bison will be hitting the road to compete at the Navy Classic in Annapolis, Md. on Nov. 19.
