Following a 3-0 weekend at home, the Bison traveled to Navy, George Washington, and Johns Hopkins to begin conference play. On Sept. 23, the Bison took on the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays at the Newton White Aquatic Center. Jeff Hagen ’18 led the Bison with six goals, while Rade Joksimovic ’20 posted four goals. The Orange and Blue outscored the Blue Jays in the first quarter 4-2 and continued to control the rest of the game. After opening up the third quarter with a 5-1 run, the Bison secured the victory. Marko Djordjevic ’19, Cooper Dolan ’20, Cullen Jacuzzi ’20, and Logan Schofield ’20 also contributed to the victory. In goal, Charlie Niehaus ’18 tied his highest save record with 16 saves.

The Orange and Blue continued their conference play on Sept. 23 as they took on George Washington. Despite the shallow-deep pool disadvantage, the Bison won 12-9. They secured a 4-3 lead at halftime and extended that lead to 8-4 in the third quarter, which proved to be enough to secure the victory. Djordjevic led the Bison with four goals, while Tommy Stupp ’18 and Joksimovic also scored multiple goals. Hagen drew six ejections in the victory for the Bison while Niehaus recorded 10 saves.

After taking down two conference opponents, the Bison continued their momentum in the third and final game of the weekend. On Sept. 24 the Bison competed against Navy at Scott Natatorium. Entering halftime, the Bison and the Midshipmen were tied 4-4, and then 6-6 at the third quarter. Jared Stanley ’21, Djordjevic, and Hagen all found the back of the net to give the Bison a 9-6 lead in the third and fourth quarters. The Bison are now 7-6 on the season, and continue their MAWPC as they host Fordham on Oct. 1 at Kinney Natatorium.

“This was a great weekend for the team. Going 3-0 on the road is always hard especially when you are playing in shallow-deep pools,” said Jacuzzi.
