The Bison hosted their final home competition of the season on Oct. 28, where they defeated both Johns Hopkins and Navy. The Orange and Blue recently returned from their annual California trip where they went 2-3, defeating Santa Clara and Loyola Marymount. The Bison are the only MAWPC team to remain undefeated in the conference and are undefeated at Kinney Natatorium this season.

In the first game of the day, against Johns Hopkins, the Bison dominated with a 14-5 victory. Jeff Hagen ’18, Rade Joksimovic ’20, Marko Djordjevic ’19, and Logan Schofield ’20 led the Bison with three goals each, in addition to Djordjevic’s two assists. At halftime, the Orange and Blue held a 4-3 lead over the Blue Jays, but pulled away in the third quarter, scoring seven goals. Goalie Charlie Niehaus ’18 recorded seven saves, surpassing the 800-save mark, only the fourth Bison to do so in program history.

The Bison defeated the Midshipmen 12-6 in their second game of the day to remain undefeated in the Mid Atlantic Water Polo Conference. Before the game, the team honored their four seniors for Senior Day: Hagen, Tommy Stupp ’18, Jordan White’18, and Niehaus.

Joksimovic led the Bison with six goals, while Djordjevic netted three. Niehaus recorded eleven saves. The Bison converted on five out of the nine man-up advantages, and held the Midshipmen to only one goal on eight advantages.

“We actually expected the Navy game to be much tougher, but we did a very good job in both defense and offense. Our defense had a few holes, but we can easily fix that problem by the time the championship comes,” Djordjevic said. “This was also very big weekend for our seniors. We were all very motivated to win because these games were their two last home games ever. Seniors played very well; every senior field player scored at least once during this weekend, which is very cool. Also Charlie had some very good saves as well. With these two games, we are still undefeated in our conference, and we hope that we stay undefeated until the Mid-Atlantics championship.”

The Orange and the Blue will wrap up their regular season on Nov. 5, when they travel to Bronx, NY to take on Fordham in their last conference game of the season.
