President Donald Trump announced on March 28 the firing of Veteran Affairs Secretary David Shulkin. Trump has announced that he will nominate Rear Admiral Ronny L. Jackson, his personal physician, to the position. Shulkin was the only Obama-era holdover in Trump’s cabinet.

The most serious allegations against the 11 Pennsylvania State University members of Beta Theta Pi arrested in relation to the death of fraternity pledge Timothy Piazza have been dismissed by a judge for the second time. Judge Allen Sinclair dismissed the charges of involuntary manslaughter, reckless endangerment, and hazing counts as well as many others.

International:

Kim Jong-un made a surprise two-day visit to Beijing, his first known trip abroad since taking power. State media in North Korea and China says that the two leaders have amended relationships between the countries.

Starting in Sept. 2019, France will require students to attend school starting at age three rather than the current age requirement of six. According to Macron, the change is an attempt to prevent extremism and improve integration to French society.
