The women’s lacrosse team (3-12, 1-7 Patriot League) fell to the Lehigh Mountain Hawks on April 22 by a final score of 14-5. With this loss, the Bison are out of contention for the Patriot League Tournament.

The Orange and Blue saw a 2-0 lead at the start of the game with goals by Audrey Walsh ’19 and Morgan Steinhacker ’20. However, the Mountain Hawks responded with four consecutive goals. With about ten minutes left in the half, Walsh added another goal for the Bison, bringing the score to a 4-3 game at the half.

Continuing their momentum Erika Stube ’18 added a goal to tie the game 4-4 at 29 seconds into the second half. Again, Lehigh answered with another four-goal run to take the 8-4 advantage. The Bison attempted a comeback after scoring an additional goal, but unfortunately Lehigh tallied six consecutive goals to put the contest out of reach.

Goalie Jamie DeWitt ’19 had 12 saves, Lillie Hunt ’20 added a pair of assists, and Katherine Doyle ’18 had six ground balls, four caused turnovers, and five draw controls.

“We came out really strong the first half but didn’t finish out the second half like we would’ve wanted too. But I think we can use the second half as a way to learn and improve on our second half play for our last game on Friday,” Walsh said.

The Bison will finish their season at home on April 27 hosting Army West Point at 4 p.m.
