Due to weather conditions, the Bison Swimming and Diving team’s trip to New York City on Jan. 20 was canceled. The Orange and Blue were supposed to face off in a dual meet at Columbia’s Percy Uris Natatorium. The women’s team was scheduled for a matchup against the Wagner Seahawks, while the men were scheduled to battle the Columbia Lions.

There has not been a makeup date scheduled for the meet, however, the Bison are gearing up for their Senior Day meet to honor their 12 senior athletes in the class of 2019.

The men’s team is looking to celebrate the six-man class of 2019: Mitch Buccalo, Chadd Cummings, Vince Filippini, Tom Gannon, Charlie McFarland, and Jack Rogers. Collectively, the six have totaled 221 points at the Patriot League Championships and they have a stunning 11 top-10 times in individual events for the program. Cummings holds the school record for the 100-meter breaststroke with 54.65 seconds.

The 2019 senior class for the women’s team will honor its six dedicated athletes before the meet as well: Megan Barpoulis, Steph Boyd, Julie Byrne, Abigail Rosenberg, Lindsay Smalec, and Mary Weinstein. Together, the six have scored a total of 285.5 points at the Patriot League Championships, and they hold an impressive 13 top-10 times in individual events. Rosenberg holds the school record in the 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle. In 2017 and 2018, Byrne was named CSCAA Honorable Mention Scholar All-American.

The Bison will celebrate Senior Day against Lehigh on Jan. 26 at home in the Kinney Natatorium.
