The fourth-seed Bison men’s tennis team lost 4-2 against the fifth-seed Boston University Terriers on April 19 in the Patriot League Quarterfinals in West Point, NY. The Orange and Blue improved tremendously throughout the season after starting off with a record of 4-9 and went on to lose only four of their final 12 matches. The Bison ended their season with an overall record of 12-13.

During the match, the Orange and Blue tallied two singles victories from Ryan Jurist ’22 and Cooper Bradshaw ’22. Bradshaw and Ethan Jacobs ’22 secured a doubles victory as well.

The Terriers won the number one, two, and four singles matches along with a pair of doubles victories, allowing them to advance to the Patriot League Semifinals.

With the season coming to a close, Max McDonald ’19 and Andrei Vitiuc ’19 played their last matches for the Orange and Blue. The pair of seniors were key contributors all season, combining for 10 singles wins.

Despite being a fairly young team, it is clear that the new players this season improved and contributed greatly, as the four underclassmen starters all went 0.500 or better in singles matches over the course of the year. Next season looks promising for another chance to capture the Patriot League title.
