University website revamp

One of the biggest stories of this semester is the redesign of the University’s official website, which was launched on Aug. 5. The upgrade is meant to enhance the user experience for both faculty members and students.

Unlike the old style, which was mainly composed of a few pictures and a long introduction, the new website immediately displays a short video that vividly presents the daily campus life at the University. There are now convenient links to join the University’s mailing list, apply for a campus tour, and check the requirements and deadlines for applying to the University.

The University will continue to release new features and content over the next few months in order to improve the user experience. For example, the University will be launching LiveWhale, a new event calendaring system that will make it easier to promote campus events. The improved website is also an important tool and resource for current students and faculty members.

Sadie Farnsworth ’21 is among students who received the new website well. “I think it’s very sleek and modern and really represents the innovative thinking here at Bucknell. It’s also easy to access and has links to literally anything you need,” Farnsworth said.
