The Bison volleyball team traveled to Hamilton, N.Y. this past weekend to face the Colgate Raiders. Against an undefeated team, the Bison faced the challenge with determination, but ultimately fell by a score of 3-0, losing the sets 25-14, 25-13, and 25-23.

In the first and second sets, the Raiders captured an early lead. In the second set, the Bison came within five points of Colgate after three consecutive kills, but ultimately could not pull ahead. The third set looked promising, as the Bison had a 17-10 lead. Unfortunately, Colgate battled back to beat the Bison 25-23.

Leaders in kills were Mimi Richards ’20 with nine, Lisa Zoch ’23 with six, Emma Buchanan ’22 with five, and Sophie Bullard ’20 with four. Leaders in digs included Brooke Stark ’20 with 11, Zoch with eight, Kelsey O’Loughlin ’23 with eight and Bullard with four. O’Loughlin by a landslide has 19 assists.

Senior captain Selby Schnobrich ’20 spoke to what the team will look to improve. “We’re working on getting consistency in the way we play. We know we have the lineup and the skills needed to compete with any team in the league; this weekend is going to be a great test for putting it all together,” Schnobrich said.

The Bison will travel to Lafayette on Friday, Oct. 25 and to Lehigh on Saturday, Oct. 26.
