For the last tournament of the fall golf season, the Bison women’s golf team headed to the Vanessa Picciotto Perrine Memorial Intercollegiate, hosted by Wagner. The event stretched from Oct. 28 to Oct. 29 over 36 holes. In their fifth competition, the Bison faced five other teams: Long Island, Monmouth, Fairfield, Niagara, and host Wagner.

The five individuals selected for team ranking were Sahana Paravantavida ’23, Tatum McKelvey ’23, Sally Sohn ’22, Erin Holmes ’21, and Meredith Langs ’20. Morgan Hennessy ’22 also competed in the tournament as an individual.

On the opening day of competition at Richmond County Country Club, Holmes lead the Orange and Blue with an 81, putting her in fourth place, three shots behind the leader. Sohn (82), Langs (85) and Paravantavida (85) rounded out the individuals who were placed in the top 15. At the end of the opening day, the Orange and Blue were sitting in second place with a 333 team, six strokes behind leaders Monmouth.

On the final day of the event, McKelvey set her season-high shooting five strokes over par (76). She claimed the best individual score over the final day at the tournament and finished 4th overall.

“I was so happy with how I placed in the last tournament of the season… I wasn’t expecting it really. My mindset for each tournament is to try to help the team as best as possible, placing individually is just a bonus! I didn’t feel too much pressure going into the second round, I was just trying to finish the season on a high note,” Tatum said.

The Orange and Blue matched with their season-best performance: a second-place at Hartford Invitational. Monmouth won the final team ranking with 658, but the Bisons placed 2nd and claimed the best team scored on the final day with 329.
