Men’s tennis wins over Siena

On Feb. 2 in South Williamsport, Pa., the Bison men’s tennis team took on Siena College and came out with the win. Marwan Abaza ’21 was victorious in both the singles, winning 6-2, 5-7, 10-5, as well as in the doubles alongside partner Chunyu Chen ’23, winning, 7-6 (8). 

Duo Micheal Owen ’23 and Cooper Bradshaw ’22 also won their doubles match without losing a game, the final score being 6-0. Owen, Ryan Jurist ’22 and  Guillermo Torres ’23 also won their respective singles matches, solidifying the Bison victory.

“We have a very young team and we are looking to build off this win as we grow and develop as a team,” said Bradshaw. “We played well against Siena but can play much better and I’m looking forward to watching the team grow as the season progresses.”

The final score of the competition was Bucknell 5, Siena 2, making it a very successful victory for the Orange and the Blue. The Bison will be eyeing another victory as they take to the courts on Feb. 8 against Monmouth in New Jersey.
