Some students don’t have housing. So what? Here’s why that’s a good thing

Aaron Chin

As the end of the year quickly approaches, many students are stressed about trying to find housing for next year. While some students found what they wanted, others were shut out. Don’t fret if this is you – actually, it is a good thing.

  1. Survival skills. Let’s face it, we all know that we cannot be coddled for our entire lives. Not having housing next year is an excellent way to adjust to this. While you might not make your bed in your dorm, you will be forced to make your own bed in the woods with materials like leaves and twigs. You will hopefully learn lessons about resourcefulness as a result!
  2. You will make new friends. Are you constantly complaining that you have no friends? I am too. Having no housing next year is the perfect fix for this. This will force you to make new friends that you would have never made in the first place, like squirrels and werewolves!

So, there you have it. There are a few reasons why having no housing next year will be a good thing!
