Women’s Tennis competed at the inaugural ITA Patriot League Masters Qualifier this past weekend, in both singles and doubles. Whitney King ’25 reached the quarterfinals in singles and teamed up with Abby Platt ’26 to reach the quarterfinals in doubles.
The field in West Point, NY included all nine Patriot League tennis programs. All competing were looking for a berth to the ITA Conference Masters Championship in Rome, GA as the singles and doubles champions for both men and women would advance.
King was the standout performer for the Bison, reaching the quarterfinal before being stopped. As the 4th seed, King had a bye for the Round of 32 before matching up with Lehigh. King took the match in straight sets, winning 6-3, 6-0. In the quarterfinals she fell 7-6, 6-0.
Platt also competed in singles for the Orange and Blue, after taking the first set, fell short and was defeated, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3.
The two Bison teamed up to take on the doubles as well, where they faced off against Boston University in the quarterfinals. The Orange and Blue duo were unable to pick up the victory, falling 6-3 to Boston. The Boston duo went on to place second overall, with the duet from Navy taking home the double titles.
