This past weekend Bison Women’s Tennis defeated Loyola 6-1, snagging their first Patriot League win, as well as defeating Saint Joseph’s with a score of 4-3. This win moved the Bison women to a 7-8 overall season record, 1-2 in Patriot League play.
On Saturday, the Bison opened with two doubles points, with Whitney King ’25 and Abby Platt ’26 dominating on one court 6-3 and Anna Lajos ’25 and Jaycie Mair ’27 commanding on another 7-5. In singles play, the Orange and Blue prevailed through five out of the six matches. King won 6-5, 6-1. Platt defeated her opponent with scores of 6-1, 6-2. Lajos triumphed with a score of 6-4, 7-5. Tori Allen ’27 won 6-3, 6-4. Finally, Riley Jennings ’28 competed in three sets to end the final match.
On Sunday, the Bison faced Saint Joseph’s, repeating a similar winning pattern as the day before. Again, King paired with Platt, and Cameron King ’28 paired with Mair: both defeated their opponents with a score of 6-2. The Orange and Blue snagged the first three singles matches with Lajos winning in three sets, Caroline Marcus ’25 crushing Saint Joseph’s 6-2, 6-1 and Natalie Devraj ’28 dominating 6-0, 6-1. Saint Joseph’s won two singles matches, but the Bison had secured the win, ending the day with a score of 4-3.
