Men’s and Women’s Track and Field competed at IC4A/ECAC Indoor Championships, finishing up their indoor season by competing against the best teams and athletes on the East Coast, picking up two event wins and another podium spot in the process. They later opened up their outdoor season at the Keystone State Challenge hosted by Shippensburg University.
On the tail end of the Saturday of Indoor Championships, Henry Didden ’26 claimed the IC4A title in the 5,000 meters, running 14:25.52. This is the Bison’s first individual IC4A title in a distance event since Matthew Forys ’07 claimed first in the 3,000 meters. Didden’s mark also slotted him in at ninth all-time in the Bison record books. Max Crockett ’25 was close behind in third in 14:28.83, a new best and good for All-East honors. On Sunday, it was Anna Posh ’25 who kicked things off for the Orange and Blue in the 500 meters, running 1:15.21 for third overall and All-East honors. Caryn Rippey ’26 ended the meet on the highest note possible for the Bison in the 3,000 meters, running 9:44.56 for the gold. This is the Orange and Blue’s fifth ECAC champion ever and the first in a distance event. Rippey’s mark is fourth all-time in the Bison annals.
At Shippensburg, it was the distance runners who started things off strong for the Bison with Katie Moncavage ’28, Kailey Granger ’27 and Margaret McLoughlin ’25 sweeping the top three, running 4:44.97, 4:46.00 and 4:46.69, respectively. Kerry O’Day ’28 continued the distance success, running 11:06.34 in the 3,000-meter Steeplechase for second. Ethan Pratt-Perez ’28 also found success in the Steeple, running 9:37.28 for third overall. Grace Vives ’26 placed second in the 800 meters, running 2:21.10. Hayden Singer ’27 found the same placement for the men running 1:58.79 over 800 meters, just three-hundredths of a second off the top spot. Bradley Weldon ’27 found the gold in the 5,000 meters, running 18:03.45 for first. Dave Carillo ’28 slotted in at second in the same event after a gutsy run, leading for over 4,000 meters, finishing at 15:18.26.
In the Hammer Throw, Aiden Tacker ’26 placed second, throwing 175-03 feet, just inches off the top spot. Wade Shomper ’26 continued the dominance in the throws by the Bison, picking up the win in 55-09.75 feet in the Shot Put while Braiden Pulver ’28 was just behind him in third, having a mark of 50-10.75 feet. Prizila Negrete ’27 found the top spot for Women in the same event, tossing a mark of 40-03.25 feet. Maddie Fowler ’28 placed third in the Discus, hurling a mark of 133-04 feet. In the 400 meters, Posh, hot off her podium finish at ECAC placed first overall in the 400 meters, running 56.90 seconds, well over a second ahead of the next fastest finisher. Connor Goldfarb ’27 placed second in the 400 meters for the Men, breaking the 50-second barrier, blazing a time of 49.85 seconds.
The Bison will continue their season next week at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa., where they will compete at the Lafayette Invitational on Saturday, March 29.
