The Orange and Blue had their last game of the regular season at home against the Lehigh Mountain Hawks this past Saturday, Nov. 1. The match was quite the comeback effort from the Bison as they trailed 2-1 at halftime. The victory gave the Orange and Blue their first 10-win season since 2018.
Kira Leclercq ’26 scored another two goals for the season and Reese Czajkowski ’28 also reached double digits for points this season in this match up. Nicky Punt ’26 brought her career total to 28 with three assists in this game alone tying the record for fourth all-time in a career. The Bison outshot the Mountain Hawks 25-6, with six penalty shots to Lehigh’s one.
The Mountain Hawks started scoring in the first quarter. The Orange and Blue fought back just five minutes starting with a penalty corner from Sally Hunter ’28 who brought it to Leclercq. From there the sphere was sent to Czajkowski to bring it to the net where Hunter secured the point. The Mountain Hawks pulled ahead with just 16 seconds before halftime making the score 2-1 before the break.
The Bison came in hot after halftime with Leclercq scoring within the first three minutes. Lehigh aimed to reclaim their lead even seeming to score a goal late in the third period but the call was overturned due to a dangerous swing.
The Orange and Blue added another three points to the board in the fourth quarter alone. Punt started the three point sprint with a long-range pass to Czajkowski who successfully put it away. The Bison held onto this momentum when Leclercq sent a pass to Gianna Puorro ’26 who navigated the pass into the cage. The last tally was added to the scoreboard at the 58-minute mark with another penalty corner from Hunter. Punt was available for the assist where she passed it off to Leclercq to finish off the point. The buzzer sounded, signifying the end of both the game and the regular season for the Orange and Blue.
The Bison will begin their fight to the championship title in the Patriot League Tournament this Thursday, Nov. 6. The Orange and Blue as the third-seed will travel to take on second-seeded Lafayette in the semifinals.
